Dermal Fillers
With advancing years, predictable patterns of volume loss and subsequent facial deflation and descent occur. A chronologically set pattern of skeletal retrusion, and the resorption of fat pads that sit under the skin, contribute to loss of facial volume over time. This loss of buttressing and support, causes the skin to fold, crease and descend. Hollowed temples, down-turned mouths and jowls are classic signs of facial deflation.
Strategically injected dermal fillers serve to restore lost volume and to restructure the facial skeleton, essentially rebuilding pillars of support for the skin. By restoring volume, skin becomes smoother and a more youthful facial contour is restored.
There is no cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all approach to Dr vanVliet’s advanced dermal filler treatments.
She conducts a detailed consultation and assessment and takes a top to bottom approach to create a structured injection strategy to subtly contour and sculpt natural looking and impactful results. Her decades of work as a Plastic Surgeon have made her an expert and nuanced injector. Her goal is to deliver natural looking, refreshed results that are age appropriate and leave you looking and feeling like your best version of yourself.
Dr vanVliet works primarily with Hyaluronic acid (HA) based fillers. HA based fillers comprise the largest part of the dermal Filler market because of their natural look and feel, as well as their excellent safety profile. They come in many formulations and they are able to offer highly customizable and long lasting results.
The Strategic And Expert placement of Fillers can optimize parameters of:
- Health: reduced appearance of stress, poor health
- Mood: reduction of sad, mad or tired appearance
- Beautification: especially around the Eyes, Cheeks and Lips

What is Hyaluronic acid?
HA is a natural occurring substance found in our bodies (joints, eyes and skin) that absorbs water like a sponge. HA contributes to skin hydration and plumpness – the dewy, moist smooth skin that we love in babies – that’s HA. A wide array of injectable HA products and formulations exist and this allows for highly customizable treatment options.

Common Treatment Areas
Upper Face and Eyes:
Much of the volume replacement achieved by HA fillers in the upper face help deliver immense beautification benefits to the eyes. Strategically placed injection sites in the forehead, temple, cheek bones and eyelids work together to synergistically:
- Lift and shape the brow
- Reduce sagging and hooding of the upper eyelid
- Open the eye aperture with happier, brighter looking eyes
- Diminish lines / wrinkles of the crows feet and forehead
- Correct lower eyelid hollows and dark circles
Mid-Face:
Mid-facial injections are directed towards restoring cheek bone volume, definition and lift, while also imparting profound re-contouring benefits to the adjacent structures of the lower eyelid, and the lower face jowls.
Lower Face:
Dermal filler injections in the lower face serve to:
- Defining a clearer, more defined jawline contour
- Reducing jowling
- Reduce chin dimpling
- Alter chin definition / projection as needed
- Provide structural support around the lips
Perfect Lips:
Lip injectable sessions are tailored to your aesthetic goals, age and ethnicity to create striking, rejuvenated lips with a soft, natural look.
Treatment goals vary but include:
- Volumization / augmentation as desired
- Defining the lip and improving definition, proportions
- Correction of fine lines, marrionette lines and jowls
- Improving lip texture, colour and gloss
Addressing the Fear Factors:
- Pain: Fear of pain with facial injections is real. The great news is with the ongoing innovations in bio-technology, the advancements of HA dermal fillers have never been better. Dr vanVliet has been injecting HA fillers for several decades and the current products she utilizes are the thinnest, smoothest and most tissue friendly products ever available. They come pre-combined with anesthesia as well. She uses ultra-tiny needles and cannulas to reduce your discomfort, and often uses adjunctive modalities such as topical freezing and vibration tools to reduce your discomfort.
- Safety: HA injectables are safe, and easily accepted by the body, with very low complication rates. Dr vanVliet works only with HA fillers that are FDA approved for their safety and efficacy. They are easily reversible (dissolved) by injecting a substance called Hyaluronidase. Based on their specific formulation and their placement, they often last from 6 to 18 months, until they are progressively and naturally metabolized by the body.

- Looking ‘done’ or funny: There is a stigma that surrounds dermal Fillers that is well publicized in the media regarding the bad or unnatural results that can occur. Unnatural, over-filled results are easy to see. They are often the results that come from the hands of inadequately trained practitioners, utilizing poor quality products, in inappropriate volumes. You can rest assured that Dr vanVliet has extensive education, training and experience in injectables. She curates her advanced filler treatments to suit your natural features, remaining age appropriate and keeping your aesthetic wish list top of mind. Her ‘work’ will be harmonized and subtle and will never look like ‘work has been done’.
- Cost: At Spring Skin we understand that not everyone is made of money and that injectable treatments need to be tailored to your budget. Depending on your aesthetic goals we can break injectable treatment plans into sequential tiers of treatments, as needed. Costing is often determined during your initial consultation with Dr vanVliet and this is based on the complexity of the work and the amount of product that will be required.

What’s the difference between wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers?
While they are both injectable, and they are both offered as a means of fixing wrinkles, Neurotoxins target the wrinkles that are caused by the repetitive movement of facial muscles. Dermal fillers, in contrast, replace lost volume underneath the skin to smooth out wrinkles from below the skin’s surface, effectively “sculpting and filling” wrinkles from the inside out

- Wrinkle relaxers / Neurotoxins
- Micro-Infusion Gold
